PoMS is a long-term monitoring scheme and the value of the data it collects will increase as more survey years are added, facilitating use of the data in research, conservation and survey planning.
However, there have already been research outputs making use of data from PoMS, or working with PoMS participants to gather feedback on the scheme, and more are in progress.
Pollinator monitoring more than pays for itself
PoMS partners are authors of a paper showing the importance and value of well-designed pollinator monitoring schemes. This research was funded under the Pollinator Monitoring and Research Partnership project WC1101 and by BBSRC, NERC, ESRC and the Scottish Government under the Global Food Security Programme (Grant BB/R00580X/1). The work was also supported by the NERC award number NE/R016429/1 as part of the UK-SCAPE programme delivering National Capability. The paper is open access:

Widespread losses of pollinating insects in Britain
Research using recording scheme data highlights changes and losses in pollinator distribution:

Biodiversity Indicators
Data from the two PoMS surveys and the recording schemes is brought together for analysis to deliver key metrics on pollinator population status and trends, including updates of the UK Pollinator Indicator at species and country-level resolution.
